PREVIEWING THE GAME: Louisiana and Troy last met in Troy at the end of February during the 2018 season, with Troy taking down Louisiana 72-53 on Feb. 22, 2018.  The two teams matched up twice last season, with Troy taking both games and the Trojans have won the previous three games.

All-time Troy leads the series 13-10, with Louisiana having last beaten Troy on Feb. 11, 2017.  The last time that Louisiana won in Troy was the first meeting between the two programs, with the Ragin' Cajuns winning 81-69 on Jan. 14, 2006.

REVIEWING THE PREVIOUS GAME: Louisiana struggled shooting from the field in its previous game at South Alabama and it cost the Ragin' Cajuns, as they fell 83-60, to the Jaguars on Thursday, Jan. 24.  Several times through the game Louisiana attempted to cut into South Alabama's lead, getting it under 10 points at different points throughout the second and third quarters, but each time that Louisiana got close the Jaguars would hit a run, pulling away each time to hold onto the lead.

Sophomore Ty'Reona Doucet led Louisiana in scoring, finishing with 23 points on 9-for-13 shooting and she grabbed six rebounds in the process.  The 23 points was the fifth time this season that Doucet has scored at least 20 points in a game, and the second time in conference play.

HIGH FLYING FRESHMEN: Freshmen guards, Brandi Williams and Andrea Cournoyer have been scoring machines over the first two plus weeks of conference play, each averaging double-figures in Sun Belt play.  With Williams averaging 13.5 ppg., and AC averaging 12.3 ppg., making them the top two scoring freshmen in Sun Belt Conference play.

NON-CONFERENCE DOUCET SPECIAL: Doucet was extremely consistent during the non-conference portion the season.  She averaged a double-double, scoring 14.8 points per game and she grabbed 11.2 rebounds per game.  Among the conference, Doucet was the only player who averaged a double-double during the non-conference season.

WILLIAMS HAS IMPRESSED: Williams has been impressive through Louisiana's first 17 games, scoring 11.4 points per game, the second most on the team, while shooting .379 percent from the field.  The 11.4 ppg., rank Williams second on the team in scoring and when looking at the Sun Belt Conference, Williams is the leading scorer among freshmen.

LOUISIANA FRESHMEN HAVE BEEN KEY: Louisiana's four freshmen have played key parts on the court over the Ragin' Cajuns' 17 games played so far.  Louisiana's freshmen have averaged 28.9 points per game total, which is just under half of the 60.4 points per game that Louisiana is averaging as a team and the four freshmen are shooting .371 percent playing a key part the team shooting percentage of .378.

DISHING GOODWIN: Sophomore guard Skyler Goodwin has been moving the ball with efficiency during the first six games of conference play, racking up 15 total assists in conference play and that gives her an average of 2.5 assists per game.  Goodwin opened conference play with a career-high six assists at Arkansas State on Jan. 3.

WHAT THE TROJANS BRING: Troy, who enters the game against Louisiana as the leaders in the conference, has won nine out of its previous 10 games, with the lone loss coming the past weekend at Georgia State on Jan. 19.  The Trojans got back to their winning ways in the previous game, where they took down ULM, 78-56, on Thursday, Jan. 24.

What Troy does well is rebound the basketball, with their numbers of rebounds per game (51.3) and total rebounds (923) both ranking as the two best totals in the NCAA and Troy's +11.4 rebounding margin is the eighth best margin in the country.  Averaging 82.4 points per game, the Trojans rank in the Top-10 nationally in scoring offense, sitting at ninth in the NCAA and their scoring margin of +13.5 puts them 34th in the country.

Both Amber Rivers and Kayla Robinson are averaging just over 11 points per game, with Rivers sitting at a team-high 11.7 ppg. and Robinson sitting right behind her averaging 11.5 ppg.  Sky'Lynn Holmes is leading the Trojans on the boards, averaging a team-high 9.4 rebounds per game, and she sits third in the conference in rebounds per game.

Robinson has been running the Trojans offense with confidence throughout the season, averaging a team-high 3.9 assists per game, dishing out a total of 67 assists.  Those numbers put Robinson fourth in the conference in assists per game.
