Cajuns head to SEC venue for second consecutive week
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team returns to a Southeastern Conference venue for the second consecutive week when it travels east to Baton Rouge to compete in the LSU Alumni Gold on Saturday at Bernie Moore Track and Field Stadium.

Action begins at 9 a.m., with field events coupled with "B" section running events. The afternoon session begins at 1:20 p.m., with the women's 4x100-meter relay. Live results will be available on the track and field schedule page at RaginCajuns.com.

Joining Louisiana and host LSU in the meet is Alcorn State, Grambling, Hinds (Miss.) CC, Louisiana Tech, New Orleans, Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern, Southern-New Orleans, Texas State, Tulane and ULM, along with several athletes from Texas, Arkansas, Clemson and Southern Miss.

Louisiana returns to action one week after competing at the Tiger Track Classic in Auburn, Ala. Richard Delphin, ranked No. 7 in the Sun Belt Conference in the hammer throw, posted the third-best mark (183-7) in school history and earned a fourth-place performance in the discus (157-11) for the Ragin' Cajuns.

Kyle Baudoin, ranked No. 4 in the Sun Belt Conference in the pole vault, will lead a trio of Louisiana athletes in the event after clearing a season-best 16-8 ¾ last week. Teammates Matt Wilson (15-8 ¼) and Chandler Mixon (15-2 ¼) are ranked 10th and 11th overall in the Sun Belt Conference after posting their season-best marks at last month's Louisiana Classics.

The Ragin' Cajuns will look to continue to shine in the javelin as Bartul Basic (232-9) and Hunter Stelly (211-9) enter the meet ranked No. 1-2 in the Sun Belt Conference, with freshman MacKenzie Marze (150-11) ranked third among SBC throwers on the women's side. Basic, who skipped last week's meet at Auburn, enters the meet ranked No. 4 on the NCAA East Outdoor Qualifying list and is No. 10 nationally.

Shaquille Singuineau set a personal-best in the men's shot put (54-1 ¼) to move up to No. 6 among Sun Belt Conference athletes. In the high jump, Sven Glueck enters the meet ranked No. 3 (6-9 ½) in the Sun Belt Conference with Angus Sinclair ranked fifth (6-8 ¾) and Damon Guidry seventh (6-7 ½).

Stanley Limoh will look to build on his season-best time in the men's 1,500-meter run (3:56.07) where he is ranked No. 8 in the SBC. In the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, Beau Robinson will look to improve on his SBC leading time (9:08.86) that was set at the Louisiana Classics with Jonathan Kimutai looking to build off his season-best time (9:34.02) that is currently ranked No. 8 in the SBC.

Alexa Johnson, ranked sixth in the SBC in the women's pole vault (12-0 ½), will be one of three Ragin' Cajuns competing in the event, joining Kimberly Rushford (11-7 ¾) and Bailey Broussard (11-6 ½).

Tisay Woodhouse, the No. 6-rated competitor in the women's hammer throw (170-11), is slated to compete for Louisiana with Frankie Griffin (5-7) competing in the high jump and Taylor Walker (39-3 ¼) in the triple jump.
