Louisiana Golf Wraps Up First Day Of Competition At Old Waverly Collegiate Championship

WEST POINT, Miss. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team couldn't overcome a slow start in the first round as the Cajuns ended the first day of the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship in a tie for 13th with a two-round score of 46-over par (622) on Monday at the par-72, 7,000-yard Old Waverly Golf Club.
 
The Cajuns are tied with Memphis after the first 36 holes. No. 34 Ole Miss leads the field with a score of 3-under (573) holding a five-stroke lead over No. 10 LSU.
 
The Rebels Braden Thornberry sits atop the individual leaderboard with a two-round score of 6-under (138) after carding a tournament low round of 67 (-5) in the afternoon round.
 
Final Round
 
The Ragin' Cajuns are paired with Memphis and Louisiana for the final round. Play gets underway at 8 a.m. tomorrow with groups starting off of holes one and ten. Louisiana is slated to get underway at 9:40 a.m. staring off of hole 10. Live stats are available on Golfstat.com.
