NEW ORLEANS – For the fourth straight season the sixth seeded Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team is heading to the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Women's Basketball Championships, and this time they'll face off with the second seeded Texas State Bobcats on Saturday, Mar. 10, starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Lakefront Arena.

PUSHING PAST THE LADY MAVERICKS: Louisiana punched their ticket to a fourth straight SBC Championships semifinals appearance with a 54-48 win over the UT Arlington Lady Mavericks. The win snapped a four-game losing streak to the Lady Mavs, and the Cajuns were clutch from the free throw line down the stretch, shooting 13 for 16 (81 percent) in the final five and a half minutes to lock down the win.
          Â
Senior Troi Swain led the way for the Cajuns scoring a team high 20 points and grabbing a team high seven rebounds. Freshman Skyler Goodwin added 15 points to the mix and fellow freshman Ty'Reonne Doucet came off the bench to score eight points, grab five rebounds and she recorded a career high four steals as the Cajuns forced 21 turnovers and had a season high 14 steals.
FOUR TIMES THE SEMIS, FOUR TIMES THE WINNING: It's not only the fourth straight season the Cajuns have made it to the SBC Championships Semifinals, but the win against UTA locked up a winning season for the Cajuns for the fourth straight season. That's a first in the program's history, surpassing the three seasons stretch from 2004-07.Â
SWAIN STEPS UP: Over the two conference tournament games, Swain has been a leading force for the Cajuns, scoring 17 points in their first-round game and she added 20 points against UTA. She's grabbed 11 rebounds over those two games and she's shown her leadership and smarts on the court adding six assists through the Cajuns' first two SBC Championship games.
WHAT THE BOBCATS BRING: Texas State punched their ticket to the SBC Championships semifinals with a 78-69 win over Coastal Carolina and being the second seeded team in the Championships, that was the Bobcats' first game.Â
          Â
Louisiana and Texas State split their regular season matchup, with the Cajuns winning in San Marcos, Texas (65-58) and the Bobcats taking the rematch at the Cajundome (56-53). This is the second straight season the two teams have met in the SBC Championships, with the Cajuns beating the Bobcats in the 2017 SBC Championships quarterfinals.
          Â
Texas State brings into the game the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, Taeler Deer, as a weapon that needs to be dealt with. Deer was also named to the All-SBC First Team and she's been a force through the entire season. She's the second leading scorer on the Bobcats, 17.3 points per game, second on the team in rebounds, 4.6 rebounds per game and she's first in assists, 6.5 assists per game.
          Â
