Louisiana Golf Set To Tee Off At Lake Charles Invitational

LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team is set tee off at the Lake Charles Invitational starting Monday at the par 72, 6,869-yard Country Club at the Golden Nugget golf course.

Action gets underway at 8:30 a.m. on Monday with a shotgun start as teams will play 36 holes on the first day. The final round is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. on Tuesday with a shotgun start.

The Field

Host McNeese is joined by Lamar, Louisiana, Marquette, Missouri State, New Orleans, Nicholls, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Miss, Stephen F. Austin and Texas State in the 11-team field.

The Ragin' Cajuns are paired with McNeese and Marquette for the first two rounds. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.com.

The Lineup

Junior Triston Elston is joined by sophomore Jack Tolson and freshmen Jusitn Caldwell, Bjorn Gudjonsson and Peter Hinnant in the lineup.

Elston continues to pace the squad with a 73.92 scoring average through 24 rounds, while Tolson is second on the team with a 74.54 average.

Following the Lake Charles Invitational, the Cajuns head to Hattiesburg, Miss. on March 31 for the Southern Collegiate Match Play hosted by Southern Miss at the Hattiesburg Country Club.
