LAFAYETTE – Three wins on the road has put the 13-11 (8-4 SBC) Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team in position to make a run at the top of the Sun Belt Conference, and they'll get a chance to start that run when they welcome into the Cajundome at 5 p.m., the second placed Texas State Bobcats on Thursday, Feb. 15 and on Saturday, Feb. 17, the UT-Arlington Lady Mavericks come into the Dome on the Cajuns Pink Game with that game's start time listed at 4 p.m.

WATCHING/FOLLOWING THE GAMES: Both games will be broadcast on KROF 960 AM, with Ian Auzenne handling the play-by-play, while the game against Texas State will be covered on the Ragin' Cajuns Digital Network, with Dan McDonald handling the play-by-play and Saturday's game against UTA will be broadcast on ESPN3 and called by Drew Fellios and Karen Hall.

PINK GAME IS SATURDAY: Saturday's game against UTA is the Cajuns Pink Game presented by Our Lady of Lourdes.  Louisiana will be wearing pink during the game, to honor head coach Garry Brodhead's late wife Andrea Brodhead who lost her battle with Breast Cancer two years ago.

The opportunity to buy t-shirts with the donations going to the Andrea Brodhead Foundation along with other ways to give to the cause will be available for fans to get their hands on.  Cancer survivors will be honored at halftime at midcourt and everyone in attendance is encouraged to wear pink when attending the game.

HOOPS FOR HEROES/BOY AND GIRL SCOUT GAME: Thursday's game against Texas State is the Hoops For Heroes game where any active duty or veteran of our military along with first responders that present proper I.D. get into the game for free.  As for Saturday's game, any member of either the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts who wear their uniform to the game will get free admission to the game.

CAJUNS SWEEP GEORGIA: Louisiana went to Georgia and completed the sweep of both schools that reside there, starting with a 75-60 win over Georgia State in Atlanta on Feb. 8, and they finished off the weekend sweep in historic Hanner Fieldhouse with a 58-48 win over Georgia Southern on Feb. 10.

In both games the Cajuns were led by sophomore Jasmine Thomas who finished with 15 points per game, 7.0 assists per game and 6.5 rebounds per game.  While senior Simone Fields had two solid games as well, finishing with 22 points and six rebounds in Atlanta and 12 points, seven rebounds in Statesboro, Ga.

THOMAS WINS COLLEGE SPORTS MADNESS SBC PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Thomas' 15 ppg, 7.0 apg and 6.5 rpg over the weekend earned her honor of being named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.

CAJUNS CONTROL THEIR OWN DESTINY: As of right now the Cajuns sit in fifth place in the conference but they've got the same record as Troy (fourth place) and South Alabama (third place) only sitting behind them in head-to-head and they're a game behind Thursday's opponent, Texas State, with a chance to hold a 2-0 record over the Bobcats.

Louisiana plays both South Alabama and Troy next weekend, and they still have a matchup at home against first place Little Rock, setting the Cajuns up with an opportunity to make a run at a top three finish, with the team's they need to beat sitting right in front of them over the next three weekends.

WHAT THE BOBCATS BRING: The second place Bobcats are currently ranked second in both scoring offense (72.3 ppg) and scoring defense (59.2 ppg).  The Bobcats sit at the top of the conference in field goal percentage (42 percent), three-point field goal percentage (37 percent), turnover margin (+13.1) and assists averaging 16.7 apg.  And They're coming into the game having just had a three-game winning streak snapped last weekend at UTA, on Feb. 10.

Texas State has three players scoring in double digits, with Toshua Leavitt leading the way with 18.6 ppg, Taeler Deer right behind her averaging 16.6 ppg and Brooke Holle averaging 11.5 ppg.  Leavitt leads the conference in scoring while right behind her is Deer who's sitting in third place in scoring for the conference.

Deer sits at the top in three-point field goal percentage (44 percent), three-point field goals made (4.7 per game) and assists averaging 6.6 per game.  She sits at the top in assist/turnover ratio as well, with that ratio sitting at 2.1.

WHAT THE LADY MAVS BRING: Sitting right behind the Cajuns in fifth place the Lady Mavs will first head to Monroe, La., before coming down to Lafayette to face the Cajuns.  They'll take a three-game winning streak with them into their game at ULM, and they've won their last six out of seven games.

UTA sits middle of the pack in scoring offense and scoring defense, ranking sixth in both categories as they're scoring 63.2 points per game and giving up 65.2 points per game.  Where they're strong is defending the three-point line, as they sit second in three-point field goal percentage defense (29 percent).

Rebekah Vandijk leads the Lady Mavs in scoring, 14.3 points per game and rebounding, 9.4 per game.  Those numbers put her eighth in the conference for scoring and second in the conference for rebounding.  Where sits at the top is in field goal percentage, where her 59 percent shooting ranks her first in the conference.
