    LOUISIANA GAME NOTES
    THE MATCHUP
  • Louisiana Football hosts its Military Appreciation Game, which will double as the blackout game, as the Ragin' Cajuns look to win their third straight game at Cajun Field.
    LOUISIANA VS. GEORGIA STATE
  • Louisiana and Georgia State meet for the first time since 2015, and it is the first time since 2014 that Georgia State will visit Cajun Field.
  • The Ragin' Cajuns and the Panthers did not start playing football against each other until 2013, playing three-straight seasons, before taking a two-year hiatus.
    A RAGIN' CAJUNS VICTORY WOULD
  • Get Louisiana back on the winning track and once again move its overall and conference record back to .500.
  • Extend Louisiana's winning streak at home to three-straight games.  That would be the best in-season winning streak at home since 2009 when Louisiana beat Southern (9/5), Kansas State (9/12) and North Texas (10/10).
    RAGAS IS ON THE DOORSTEP
  • Sophomore running back Trey Ragas, who is 160 rushing yards away from 1,000 on the season, had his fifth 100-yard rushing game when he ran for 106 yards on 18 attempts, scoring two touchdowns, in Louisiana's Nov. 3 game at Troy.
  • The effort at Troy put Ragas one 100-yard game away from tying the school record for 100-yard games in a season, which is six, accomplished twice by Tyrell Fenroy in both 2006 and 2007.
    RAGAS LEADS THE GROUND ATTACK
  • Ragas leads the Ragin' Cajuns in rushing so far this season with 840 yards, and he is tied for the team-lead in rushing touchdowns with eight.
  • In the country, Ragas has had 24 rushing plays over 10-plus yards and that ranks him 24th in the country for plays over 10 yards.  Ragas has also had seven rushing plays over 20-plus yards and that puts him 46th in the country for plays over 20 yards.
  • Where Ragas has been clutch is on short third down situations, when it is third down with three or less yards to go, Ragas has racked up 100 yards so far this season and that ranks him eighth in the country.  Ragas has also scored seven red zone touchdowns on the ground, which ties him for 25th in the nation.
  • Ragas, who has been averaging 93.3 yards per game, ranks second in the conference in total rushing yards and average yards per game.  In the FBS, Ragas' 840 yards ranks him 25th in the country, and his 93.3 yards per game ranks him 31st in the nation.
    CAJUNS STAY CLUTCH
  • When Louisiana gets in the red zone, the offense has been finishing drives effectively, and they sit in the top-5 in the nation in red zone conversion percentage when factoring only touchdown's scored (24-for-30 at 80.0 percent).
  • On third downs, Louisiana is converting at a clip of 50.4 percent (60-for-119) which is the fourth-best percentage in the FBS.
    TAKING KICKS A LONG WAY
  • Louisiana has had nine kickoffs returned for at least 30-plus yards through the season.  That is the third most in the FBS.
  • Junior running back Raymond Calais, who has 569 combined kick return yards, is leading the way for Louisiana and his 569 yards ranks Calais eighth in the FBS.
    FAMILIAR FACES UP FRONT
  • Over the nine games that Louisiana has played this season, the Ragin' Cajuns have had the same starting five offensive linemen.
  • From left to right, juniors Rico Robinson (tackle), Ken Marks (guard), Cole Prudhomme (Center), Kevin Dotson (guard) and Robert Hunt (tackle) have all anchored the Louisiana offense.
  • It is the first time since 2014 that Louisiana has had the same starting five offensive linemen through the first nine weeks of the season.
  • Louisiana is one of two teams in the conference that has had the same five starters in the same five positions on the offensive line this season, the other being ULM.
    LOUISIANA RUSHES LONGER THEN MOST
  • Through the season, the Ragin' Cajuns have had 10 rushing plays that have gone for 40-plus yards.  That ties them for third in the FBS for rushing plays at 40-plus yards.
  • When factoring in rushing plays that have gone over 60-plus yards, Louisiana has had four plays break the 60-yard barrier, and that ties them to seventh in the country.
   LOUISIANA RUSHED THROUGH OCTOBER
  • During the month of October, Louisiana rushed for 1,039 yards giving them the sixth-most rushing yards in the FBS over the month.  The Ragin' Cajuns averaged 259.6 yards per game during the month, which ranked them 11th-best.
  • So far this season, Louisiana has racked up 1,857 yards on the ground averaging 232.1 rushing yards per game.  That puts the Cajuns in the top-20 among the FBS, ranking Louisiana's rushing attack 19th in total yards and 20th pushing yards per game.
