Ragin' Cajuns Set To Host Nationally-Ranked Tulane

Louisiana hosts Green Wave for first time since 2005
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team wraps up a seven-match homestand on Tuesday (March 21) when it faces No. 40-ranked Tulane in a 3:30 p.m. match at Cajun Courts.
Admission is free. Live results will be available at CajunStats.com. The match against Tulane (17-5) marks the first visit to Lafayette by the Green Wave since Feb. 22, 2005 when the Ragin' Cajuns recorded a 4-3 victory.
Louisiana (5-6) returns to the court for the first time since posting a 4-0 win over LSU Alexandria on March 12 to extend its winning streak to four matches. Alexandra Way and Yasmine Ansari helped the Ragin' Cajuns claim the doubles points against the Generals before Ansari clinched the match with a straight-set victory at No. 6 singles.
Abby Johnson, unbeaten during Louisiana's four-match win streak, is 5-2 overall in singles play to lead the Ragin' Cajuns with Carla Ortega (4-4) and Way (3-5) following. The Ragin' Cajuns have received solid play of late in doubles with Ortega and Kelly Drew posting a 3-0 record at No. 2 doubles with Ansari and Way also at 3-0.
Tulane has won nine of its last 12 matches on the season, including wins over No. 28 LSU, UCF, UAB and Southern Miss. The Green Wave are led in singles play by freshman Christina Sisti, who is 14-5 in dual matches including 11-4 at No. 6. Elena Muller (13-3), Ivone Alvaro (13-5) and Sade Atkinson (11-7) have all posted double-digit wins in singles play for Tulane with Muller and Naz Garagoz recording an 11-7 mark in doubles play this spring.
Following its match against Tulane, Louisiana will return to action for a pair of Sun Belt Conference matches beginning Saturday in Jonesboro, Ark., against Texas State before facing Arkansas State on Sunday.
