Louisiana Hosts McNeese State In Home Opener

Ragin' Cajuns face Cowgirls in first match of seven-match homestand
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team officially opens its home schedule on Wednesday when it plays host to in-state rival McNeese State in a 3:30 p.m. match at Cajun Courts.

After playing its first fifth matches on the road, Louisiana (1-4) begins a stretch of seven straight matches at home beginning with McNeese State (3-6). The Ragin' Cajuns claimed a 4-1 win at Jackson State in the season opener on Jan. 22 before falling in matches to South Alabama, Northwestern State, Southern Miss and nationally-ranked Mississippi State.
Lucile Delabarre, Kelly Drew, Abby Johnson and Carla Ortega have each recorded singles victories for Louisiana in dual matches this season. In doubles play, the tandem of Delabarre and Drew posting a 1-0 record at No. 2 doubles with Johnson and senior Alexandra Way splitting a pair of matches at No. 1.
McNeese State claimed the doubles point in its last match against ULM on Saturday, but the Warhawks claimed five of six singles matches to claim a 5-2 win. Hannah Brett has posted a 7-1 record in singles play for the Cowgirls in dual matches while teaming with Charoline Erlandsson to post a 4-3 record in doubles play.
