Louisiana heads to Southeastern Louisiana to take part in the George E. Fourmaux Fed Cup Invitational

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana's women's tennis team will make the trip to Southeastern Louisiana this weekend to take part in the George E. Fourmaux Fed Cup Invitational which starts in Hammond, La., on Friday, Nov. 3 and going through until Sunday, Nov. 5.

It's the first time the Ragin' Cajuns haven taken to the court since taking part in the ITA Southern Regionals from Oct. 20-21.  And this trip will be the last time the Cajuns are in action until the spring season starts.

WHO'S HEADING EAST: The Cajuns will take the entire team to Hammond for the tournament and the Cajuns are led by freshmen Dana Radovanovic and Floriane Picaut.  Radovanovic has gone 5-2 this fall while reaching the singles round of 16 in the B draw at the ITA Southern Regionals.

Picaut has gone 4-5, but she had a great run in the Contender Crossfit Islander Open at Corpus Christi, Texas during the first tournament of the fall.  She went 3-1 and reached the finals in the singles main draw before falling.

Picaut and Radovanovic have been strong as a doubles duo as well, going 6-3 while winning the doubles title at the Islander Open going 3-0 to win the title.

Freshman Kim Yatribi had a good run at the Ragin' Cajuns Invitational winning the flight seven singles title going 3-0 while sophomore Marina Rodriguez Garcia returned from her ACL tear she received at the start of the 2017 spring season.  Garcia took a match at the Ragin' Cajuns Invite to get back on the winning horse.

Senior Kelly Drew has gone 3-3 this fall making a solid run at the flight two title in the Ragin' Cajuns Invite, falling in the final match but the Cajuns senior took that match to three-sets before losing.

CAJUNS ENTER THE ROUND ROBIN: The matches will be played using Fed Cup rules with two doubles matches and three singles matches.  The matches will be scored using a 5-point scoring system.

Louisiana is one of eight teams in a field that's broken up into two divisions, Green and Gold, and the first two day's matches will be played at the Southeastern Tennis Complex and Oak Knoll Country Club.

The Cajuns are part of the Green division that includes, SLU, Alcorn State, McNeese, while the Gold division is made up of Lamar, Loyola (N.O.), New Orleans and Nicholls.  Sunday's match will be based on each team's finishes in round-robin divisional play.

WHO THE CAJUNS FACE: The Cajuns will first take on SLU on Friday, with the match starting at 1:30 p.m.  They'll then play two on Saturday, first at 8:30 a.m. they'll take on Alcorn State before finishing the day at 1:30 p.m. playing McNeese to finish the round-robin.
