LAFAYETTE – Ike Smith scored 13 of his game-high 28 points in a 24-12 second half run and Georgia Southern shot 59 percent in the second half to rally past the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, 81-76, in a Sun Belt Conference game before an announced crowd of 5,464 on Saturday at the Cajundome.

Tookie Brown scored 19 points and dished out five assists as Georgia Southern (11-6, 4-0 SBC) erased a 36-30 halftime deficit by shooting 13-for-22 from the floor and 22-for-26 from the free throw line in the final 20 minutes.

Louisiana (12-5, 2-2 SBC) took a 44-39 lead when Jerekius Davis scored off his own miss with 16:03 remaining before Smith responded with a four-point play on the Eagles' next possession to cut the lead to 44-43.

After a layup by Frank Bartley gave Louisiana a 49-46 lead with 13:38 remaining, Georgia Southern scored the next 10 points beginning with a pair of free throws by Smith at the 13:20 mark. Mike Hughes gave the Eagles the lead for good, 50-49, with a layup with 12:50 remaining before a dunk by Montae Glenn and two free throws by B.J. Gladden pushed the lead to 56-49 with 9:57 left.

The Ragin' Cajuns got as close as 59-56 on a 3-pointer by Jay Wright with 7:03 left, but Georgia Southern pushed the lead to 66-56 – its biggest of the night – as Brown capped the 7-0 run with a 3-pointer with 5:03 left.

Wright led Louisiana with 21 points while Johnathan Stove added 18. Bryce Washington posted his 14th double-double of the season with 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. The Ragin' Cajuns finished 30-for-69 (43.5 percent) from the floor and 3-for-18 (16.7 percent) from behind the 3-point line.
