LAFAYETTE, La. – The 19th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team scored seven runs in the middle innings to defeat ULM 8-2 in a contest that was resumed Friday at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field after weather suspended the game in the fifth inning the night before.

The Ragin' Cajuns (35-19, 19-9 Sun Belt) outhit the Warhawks (20-33, 10-18 Sun Belt) 8-5 in the contest as the squad has outhit their opponent in 10 of the last 11 games.

Steven Sensley led Louisiana at the plate going 2-for-4 with a double, home run and three RBI. Brenn Conrad and Kennon Fontenot each had two hits in the contest for the Cajuns.

Sophomore left-hander Gunner Leger allowed just one unearned run in 4.2 innings of work as he was unable to go any further due to the weather delay. Leger struck out five and walked two in the start.

Senior Eric Carter (4-2) earned his fourth victory of the season in the contest allowing just one run in 4.1 innings of relief. Carter retired the first 11 batters that he faced as he struck out four and did not allow a free pass.

ULM starter Keegan Curtis had a no-hitter through four innings, but like Leger he was unable to continue due to the weather delay.

Keller Bradford (2-3) was saddled with the loss after giving up five runs on four hits with a walk in 1.2 innings.

The Warhawks went in front 1-0 in the top of the third when Nathan Reynolds scored on an error by Joe Robbins at third base with two outs.

The game would be suspended in the fifth inning due to inclement weather and resumed a day later.

When the teams resumed, the Cajuns drove in two runs in the bottom of the fifth on a Sensley RBI double to left center and a Fontenot RBI single to right center to give Louisiana a 2-1 edge.

The Ragin' Cajuns broke the game open in the bottom of the sixth scoring five runs on four hits all with two outs to take a 7-1 advantage. A two-run homer to right field by Sensley highlighted the scoring in the inning. The home run is four fourth of the season for Sensley.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Cajuns picked up one more run as Nick Thurman scored on a pass ball to the squad up 8-1.

ULM tacked on a run in the top of the ninth on an RBI single by Cade Stone to make the final 8-2.
