Men's Tennis Drops 4-2 Decision to Troy

LAFAYETTE -- The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team by a 4-2 final to visiting Troy at the Cajun Courts on Thursday afternoon.
The loss dropped the Cajuns record to 5-6 this spring.
The Cajuns took the doubles point, winning the final two matches after freshman Arthur Libaud and junior Will Huyton fell to Troy's Andy Lau and Andre Baldo, 6-2 at the No. 3 spot. Senior Edgar Lopez and junior Eric Perez prevailed over Pablo Moreno and Giovani Samaha by a 6-3 final at No. 2, while junior Coleman Wahlborg and senior Jake Wynan closed out doubles with a 6-4 win over Daniel Bustamante and Vaclav Slezak.
The Cajuns took a 2-0 lead after Wynan defeated Slezak at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-1. Troy came back at No. 1 singles as Bustamante handed Libaud a 6-4, 6-3 loss.
Troy's Pablo Moreno took a 7-5, 6-1 decision over sophomore Vlad Kramarov, while Samaha walked away with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Lopez at No. 3 singles.
The Trojans clinched the match at the No. 5 spot when Mustapha Belcora beat Perez in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
The Cajuns will look to bounce back this Sunday, Feb. 28 against Presbyterian College for a 10 a.m. start at Cajun Courts.
