Men's Tennis Wins at Incarnate Word, 4-3

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team defeated incarnate Word by a 4-3 final Sunday in San Antonio.
With the win, the Cajuns improved their overall record to 3-2 on the season.
"When you have a small lineup and one of your top players are out it is never easy," Ragin' Cajuns head coach Mark Jeffrey said. "We gave up a lot this weekend so it wasn't representative of what we can do as a team."
Incarnate Word took the doubles match, 2-1 as Joey Vatanadilok and Sebastian Mortier defeated UL's duo of Edgar Lopez and Eric Perez, 6-4. In No. 2 doubles, Josip Smoljan and Francisco Bendana topped UL's Will Huyton and Arthur Libaud, 7-5. The Cajuns took No. 3 doubles as Coleman Wahlborg and Vlad Kramarov eliminated Tucker Brown and Ryan Hoverson, 6-2.
In the singles bracket, the Cajuns took four of the six matches over Incarnate Word. Libaud won No. 1 singles over Joey Vatanadilok, 6-4, 6-4.
Incarnate Word's Smoljan defeated Lopez, 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 2 spot.
In singles No. 3, Kramarov defeated Bendana, 6-3, 6-3 in straight sets. No. 4 singles went to Incarnate Word's Sebastian Mortier, 6-4, 6-3 as he beat Wahlborg.
Singles 5 and 6 went to Huyton and Perez, respectively. Huyton took down Brown, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, while Perez eliminated Ryan Hoverson, 6-0, 6-4.
The Cajuns will return to action next Sunday, Feb. 7 at UCF. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
