LAFAYETTE - The No. 5 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team and No. 4 Alabama will wait an additional day to open their much anticipated weekend series at Rhoads Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala., after weather forecasts altered the schedule of games.

With predicted nighttime temperatures in the mid-20s on Friday, the coaching staffs decided to delay the start of the series and play twice on Saturday afternoon with a predicted high of close to 60 degrees.

The Cajuns (14-0) and Crimson Tide (13-3) will now play a 1 p.m., doubleheader on Saturday, then close out the weekend series with a 1 p.m., single game on Sunday.

Alabama and Louisiana were originally scheduled to begin the three-game series Friday night.

The two programs are meeting in Tuscaloosa for the first time since March 2007 when a pair of matchups were played during the Easton Spring Fling.
