LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns volleyball team returns to Sun Belt Conference play on Friday, Oct. 23 in Little Rock, Ark., in a 6:30 p.m., match against the Little Rock Trojans at Jack Stephens Center.

The Ragin' Cajuns (5-18, 1-9 Sun Belt) took a brief break from SBC play visiting McNeese State on Tuesday. Beginning Friday in Little Rock, the remainder of the 2015 schedule features Sun Belt matches.

The stop in Little Rock is the first of just three road matches remaining this season for the Ragin' Cajuns. Next weekend, Louisiana wraps up the road slate at Appalachian State (Oct. 30) and Georgia State (Oct. 31), then concludes the regular season with three matches at Earl K. Long Gym in November.

Friday's matchup marks the lone meeting between the Cajuns and Trojans (8-11, 4-5 Sun Belt) this season. The programs have split the last four meetings dating back to 2013.

Louisiana is expected to regain the services of Sara Mossakowski. The team's leader in kills per set (2.37/set) missed the McNeese match after receiving treatment for a lingering back injury.

The Ragin' Cajuns have had to adjust to injury throughout the season, the latest adjustment coming at setter after Jessica Bartczyszyn suffered a hand injury prior to the South Alabama match (Oct. 10). Keely Hayes is now in her second full week starting at the position and utilizing the dump kill, has added to the Cajuns offense as evidenced by 14 kills over nine sets on the Georgia Southern-Troy homestand.

Mossakowski's presence should provide Louisiana a boost on the frontline. She totaled 19 blocks over five matches starting Oct. 7 at ULM, and her efforts were missed at McNeese as the Cajuns mustered only one block.

The month of October has seen the emergence of Chloe Cordell and Hanna Rovira in the Cajuns' offense. Over the last six matches, Cordell has averaged 2.08 kills per set and Rovira chipped in 1.96 kills per set, adding to the efforts of Mossakowski and Chanelle Gardner.

Mossakowski continues to the season leader on offense at 2.37 kills per set, reaching at least eight kills in 12 of 15 matches started. Gardner, who has produced at least five kills in 10 straight outings, ranks second at 2.33 kills per set.

Libero Sydney Davis brings a string of four straight matches with double digits in digs into Jack Stephens Center. She is 24 digs shy of accumulating 300 in her initial collegiate campaign. The Baton Rouge native has scooped double figures in digs in 15 of 23 matches.

Little Rock's offense is led by Edina Selimovic's .353 hitting percentage, which ranks as the second-best hitting percentage in the Sun Belt Conference. Carolee Dillard headlines the front row defense for the Trojans, ranking 10th among active players in Division I with 1.25 blocks per set for her career.

At 2.56 blocks per set for the year, Little Rock is the best blocking team in the Sun Belt, and it ranks 37th nationally.

The Ragin' Cajuns will attempt to break a five-match losing streak which began Oct. 10 at South Alabama. The Trojans, who fell to Arkansas State and USA in five sets in their last two matches at Jack Stephens Center, seek to avoid three consecutive home losses for the first time since 2010.
