FOR STARTERS
The Cajuns ran into a series of hurdles in its first week of Sun Belt Conference play, dropping their first three matches of the season; however, a new week provides the squad a chance to jump back into the early fold of league play when UL hosts league newcomers Appalachian State and Georgia Southern.
The Mountaineers enter the week holding a perfect 13-0 record on the season, including a perfect 3-0 mark in league play. Meanwhile, the Eagles have struggled to a winless start but stil carry the mantle of having earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament a year ago by virtue of its Southern Conference Tournament championship in its final year of competition in the league.

PROMOTIONS
A Red Out match is planned for Friday with all fans attending encouraged to don red attire. Ragin' Cajun Athletics will hold a Social Media Challenge for Saturday's match vs Georgia Southern with all fans encouraged to follow @UL_Volleyball on Twitter for the opportunity to earn prizes, including concessions vouchers and Ragin' Cajuns gear.
NEXT WEEK
Louisiana returns home next weekend and will get its first look at league newcomers Appalachian State and Georgia Southern. The Mountaineers received 24 votes in the latest AVCA Top 25 poll, while the Eagles have struggled in non-conference play with an 0-9 record despite being the reigning SoCon champions.
QUICK HITS
- The Ragin' Cajuns 10-0 start to the season is the second best in program history. Only UL's 13-0 start in 1990 is longer.
- This week will be the first meeting for the Cajuns with both Appalachian State and Georgia Southern, each of whom are newcomers to the Sun Belt in 2014. It will be the fourth and fifth time this season UL has faced a program for the first time, winning each of the previous three this year.
- Andrea Hole and Chanelle Gardner put together outstanding pre-conference resumes. Hole was named MVP of each of UL's three pre-conference tournaments, while Gardner was an all-tournament selection each time.
- Freshman Stacey Reilly is making an impact in her first year at UL, starting every match and averaging 2.26 kills and 2.54 digs per set. She is one of just two freshmen in the Sun Belt Conference this season averaging at least 2.00 kills and digs per set this season.
- Senior Caitlyn Auxilien's 3.52 digs per set ranks in the top 10 in the Sun Belt Conference this year. She needs just 40 more digs to move into fourth place all-time at UL in career digs.
- Senior setter Andrea Hole has picked up 10 double-doubles on the season, a mark that is tied for the conference lead with Texas State's Shelby Vas Matt. Meanwhile, Reilly is tied for eighth in the league with four double-doubles of her own.
