Ragin’ Cajuns Golf Schedule Features Busy Fall In 2014-15

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team will see action in six events this fall and 13 overall as head coach Theo Sliman announced the 2014-15 schedule on Tuesday.
"I'm very excited about this year's schedule," Sliman said. "There are a few changes in it, which allow us to compete against some of the best colleges in the country. We return our entire starting lineup from last year, so that will help our guys with the events that we are familiar with."
The Cajuns open the fall season on Sept. 8-9 at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate in Hattiesburg, Miss. Louisiana is the defending champion of the event after carding a score of 15-under par in 2013.
The Ragin' Cajuns also head to the Memphis Intercollegiate (Sept. 15-16) and William H. Tucker Intercollegiate (Sept. 26-27) in the month of September. Louisiana wraps up the fall season with three events in October including the David Toms Intercollegiate (Oct. 4-5), the Miramont Invitational (Oct. 13-14) and Moe O'Brian Match Play (Oct. 19).
The squad is making its first trip to the William H. Tucker , Miramont Invitational and Moe O'Brian Match Play under Sliman.
Louisiana continues action in the spring at the Oak Hills Invitational (Feb. 9-10) and Bayou City Collegiate Championship (Feb. 20-22) before hosting the 30th Annual Louisiana Classics (March 2-3) at Oakbourne Country Club.
The Ragin' Cajuns then head to the Border Olympics (March 13-14) and Lone Star Invitational (March 23-24) in Texas before closing out the regular season at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship (April 6-7).
"I think we are going to have some stiff competition, week in, week out," Sliman added. "That's very important when it comes to advancing to the NCAA Tournament. I think this squad is up for the challenge, and I am eager to get the year started next week."
