Fournette Finishes 12th At USATF Championships

Senior concludes stellar career on national stage
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Former Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field standout Albert Fournette finished 12th overall in the men's shot put during the opening day of the 2014 USATF Outdoor Championships on Wednesday.
Competing on the grounds of the California State Capitol, Fournette qualified during the early session of the 18-man field with a 10th-place throw of 63 feet, 10.5 inches. The New Orleans native came back in the evening session and posted a mark of 61-2.75 on his opening toss.
NIKE's Joseph Kovacs took first-place honors after posting a throw of 72-3.5 with teammate Kurtis Roberts finishing second at 70-5.25.
