ATHENS, Ga. – Sara Mossakowski fueled a 7-0 run in the opening set, recording a pair of kills and adding a solo block, to help the Louisiana volleyball team rally from a four-point deficit and defeat UNC Greensboro, 25-17, 25-13, 25-12 in the opening match of the Benson Group Hospitality Invitational on Friday at Stegeman Coliseum.

Mossakowski recorded a match-high 10 kills as Louisiana (7-2) posted a .227 hitting percentage at the net while holding UNCG (4-3) to minus-.069. Lavinia Tataran added eight kills and eight digs for the Ragin' Cajuns while Mossakowski and Caitlyn Auxilien combined to record four of Louisiana's five aces in the match.

"I was impressed with how well we served," Louisiana head coach Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot said. "All of our kids served the ball well and were able to get into the second, third and fourth serves. It was something I thought we didn't do well (last week) against Houston. We worked on getting a better serve this week and keeping pressure on the opponents."

Auxilien led Louisiana with 14 digs while Andrea Hole posted a double-double with 27 assists and 11 digs. Tonice White added six kills for the Ragin' Cajuns, who moved to 5-1 away from home this season, with Chanelle Gardner leading the team with four blocks.

UNCG trailed, 10-9, in the opening set before a service error and four attack errors by the Ragin' Cajuns gave the Spartans a 14-10 lead. Tataran began the comeback for Louisiana with a kill before Mossakowski followed with one of her six kills in the set. A pair of attack errors by UNCG and a block by Mossakowski gave Louisiana a 15-14 lead before the Ragin' Cajuns capped the run two plays later on a kill by Mossakowski.

Louisiana pulled away in the final two sets, hitting .312 (11-1-32) in the second set and .242 (13-5-33) in the third in claiming the first-ever meeting between the schools.

Jessica Brezwyn and Karriann Chambers had five kills each to lead UNCG. Sara Hohman added 10 assists and 10 digs for the Spartans.
