TROY, Ala. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns volleyball team makes its third appearance in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in the past four seasons when it opens play against third-seeded Texas State on Thursday at Trojan Arena.

First serve is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Live statistics and live video are available by accessing the volleyball schedule page at www.RaginCajuns.com.

The winner of the match between sixth-seeded Louisiana (19-13) and Texas State (21-12) will face the winner of the UALR-Arkansas State contest on Friday at 4 p.m. The championship match is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. with the winner receiving the league's automatic berth to the Women's NCAA Volleyball Tournament.

After posting its best record since a 19-15 mark 1997, Louisiana will look for its first win in the postseason – a span of four matches – since a four-set victory over UALR in the 2001 Sun Belt Tournament in Denver, Colo. The Cajuns appeared in the 2002 tournament before returning in 2010 and 2012.

Seniors Lavinia Tataran and Tonice White lead Louisiana in kills per set averaging 2.67 and 2.59 respectively. Sara Mossakowski (2.49) and Kaylee Nemeth (2.13) are next in hitting for the Cajuns with Kelly Wiesmann (1.93) and Kelly Wiesmann (1.77) following.

Junior setter Andrea Hole, who was named the Sun Belt Conference Setter of the Week on Monday, is third in the league with 10.54 assists per set while senior Taylor Meade is second in the conference in service aces per set (0.32).

Meade, who is fifth in school history with 168 aces, will play in her 130th career match against the Bobcats tying her with Cajun legend Nia Kiggundu for fifth-place on the all-time list.

Defensively, Caitlyn Auxilien has paced the Cajuns with 4.18 digs per set with Hole (2.92), Tataran (2.54), Mossakowski (2.19) and Meade (2.06) following. Gardner, a true freshman from St. Martinville, led the Cajuns with 98 blocks during the regular-season with White (69) and Nemeth (53) next.
