TROY, Ala. – Marija Zelenovic posted a double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs and Troy University held off the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns volleyball team in a 25-20, 25-21, 25-21 Sun Belt Conference contest on Friday at Trojan Arena.
Alexandra Alexander dished out 27 assists and added a match-high 16 digs as Troy (7-11, 2-2 Sun Belt) opened the contest hitting .282 in the first set and .224 for the match. Blair Winston added nine kills and three blocks for the Trojans while Courtney Cohen added 10 digs.
Tonice White led the Ragin' Cajuns (11-7, 1-3 Sun Belt) with 11 kills and a .364 hitting average. Freshman Chanelle Gardner added eight kills for the Ragin' Cajuns with Lavinia Tataran finishing with seven. The Ragin' Cajuns, who were held to a .125 hitting percentage from the floor for the match, opened with a .133 average in the first set before following at .196 in the second and .028 in the third.
Taylor Meade led Louisiana with 15 digs, increasing her career total to 989. Andrea Hole dished out 33 assists and tallied 11 digs for the Ragin' Cajuns while Sara Mossakowski posted seven digs.
Louisiana will return to action on Sunday when it visits Arkansas State in a 1 p.m. contest at the Convocation Center.
