Women's Tennis Falls at Northwestern State, 4-3

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team suffered a tough 4-3 loss in a road dual match at in-state rival Northwestern State on Saturday afternoon in Natchitoches, La.

“We had some good individual efforts today, but we still need to work to get better as a team,” head coach Greg Harkins said. “The key is to reach your peak at the right time of the season, and we still have plenty of time left in the season. We just need continue to work hard each day out.”

The Lady Demons swept doubles play to take an early 1-0 lead.

In singles play, Milou Israel picked up her third straight singles win at No.2 singles defeating Tatiana Larina 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.

“Milou had another great match as she has really been playing well lately,” Harkins added.

Hannah Appleyard and Sandra Ahlqvist registered the other two wins for the Cajuns in singles play.

UL next plays Alcorn State at home on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. at Cajun Courts in the first of three straight home matches.
