Cajuns Women's Tennis Falls to Islanders, 4-1

The Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision in their dual match to Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Thursday afternoon at Cajun Courts.

“We put up a good fight today but unfortunately we didn't come away with a win,” head coach Greg Harkins said. “We have played a lot of tough tennis so far, and the girls haven't back down. We are going to keep battling every day. The good thing is that tomorrow we have another chance to get better.”

The two teams started with singles play first as the Cajuns (1-5) grabbed the first point of the dual match at No.3 singles with a 6-3, 6-3 win by Milou Israel.

Despite forcing a third set in three of the next four matches, the Islanders went on to win the next four points to take the match.

UL is back in action tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Cajun Courts as the Cajuns play host to in-state rival Louisiana Tech in the second of three home matches this weekend. The Ragin' Cajuns are slated to close out the weekend with Auburn on Saturday at 1 p.m.
