Three Cajuns Fare Well At Rain-Shortened NSU Lady Demon Invite

NATCHITOCHES, La. – The Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team saw three players have good showings at the rain-shortened NSU Lady Demon Invitational this pas weekend at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex in Natchitoches, La.
“Northwestern State hosted a quality tournament,” head coach Greg Harkins said. “I was pleased to have two of our four players competing on the final day of the event. Our goal was to compete hard in every match. The girls represented the program and school well. We are improving each week this fall, and the effort is paying off on the courts.”
Freshman Nicole Breaux went 2-1 on the weekend reaching the finals of the flight two consolation draw. Breaux defeated Fanny Benincasa of New Orleans, 6-2, 6-2, and Alessandra Pennessi of Lamar, 6-4, 6-3.
Eleanor Bradshaw also reached the consolation finals of her flight after topping Joy Jones of Grambling State, 6-1, 6-2.
Also faring well over the weekend was Juliette Clement who went 1-1 in the flight two main draw. Clement won her opening match against Alicia Shaw of Grambling State, 3-6, 6-1, (11-9).
The Cajuns return to action on Oct. 26-28 at the Southern Miss Halloween Classic.
