All summer long, RaginCajuns.com is highlighting former Ragin' Cajuns baseball players who are continuing their professional careers at the minor and major league level.

This week's installment reveals a change in fortune for former Cajun Greg Wilborn after a rough stretch in June with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. In five starts with the Dodgers' Advanced A Affiliate Great Lakes Loons, the left-hander has posted a 2.35 ERA, giving up just six earned runs on 21 hits in 23.0 innings pitched.

This week's update also highlights T.J. Geith who has opened his professional baseball career on a high note. The left-hander holds a 2-0 record in 11 2/3 innings with a 2.31 ERA. Geith leads the GCL Rays with two saves and has fanned 15 opponents without giving up a walk.

And at the Major Leauge level, Jonathan Lucroy and the Brewers are in the heat of a tight NL Central Division race. As of Friday, July 22, Milwaukee was tied for first with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Through 80 games, Lucroy is hitting .281 with 37 RBI. The Brewers play the San Francisco Giants in a crucial three-game series this weekend.

Ragin' Cajuns Major League Update #5: Friday, July 22

JONATHAN LUCROY - C
(Milwaukee Brewers)
Jonathan Lucroy and the Brewers are in the heat of a tight NL Central Division race. As of Friday, July 22, Milwaukee was tied for first with the Pittsburgh Pirates with .530 winning percentage. Lucroy has a modest three game-hitting streak for the Brewers. The Eustis, Fla., native went 3-for-5 against the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 19 to help the Brewers to an 11-3 victory in Phoenix. The following evening, Lucroy drove in a run to help the Brewers clinch the series with a 5-2 win. Through 80 games, Lucroy is hitting .281 with 37 runs-batted in. The Brewers play the San Francisco Giants in a crucial three-game series this weekend., compiling 2,271,498 votes. Lucroy has knocked in 36 Brewers in his first full season in Milwaukee and has notched 17 extra-base hits.

SCOTT DOHMANN - RHP
(Sultanes de Monterrey)
Scott Dohmann finds himself with a new team in the Mexican League after spending the first third of the year with the Tigres de Quintana Roo. With the Tigres, Dohmann held a 5.14 ERA in 22 games. The reliever gave up 13 runs on 23 hits in 21 innings tossed. He fanned 19 opposing batters and gave up nine walks to hold a 1-1 for the Tigres. Dohmann has yet to make an appearance for the Sultanes.  Dohman has not made an appearance with the Sultanes since arriving in late May. Dohmann was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the sixth round of the 2000 MLB Draft. He made his major league debut on May 15, 2004. He pitched in 41 games for the Rockies in 2004, 32 in 2005 and 27 in 2006. He pitched in 31 games with the Rays in 2007, finishing 3-0 with a 3.31 ERA and in 2008 was 2-0 with a 6.14 E.R.A. in 12 games.

DANNY FARQUHAR - RHP
(Las Vegas 51s - Triple-A Affiliate for Toronto Blue Jays)
Right-hander Danny Farquhar continues to have a strong season with the Las Vegas 51s. The reliever has only surrendered two runs in his last eight innings pitched dating back to June 28. Farquhar holds a 4.37 earned run average and a 3-2 record. In 35 innings, the Pembroke Pines, Fla., product has given up just 17 earned runs on 42 hits. He has struck out 28 opponents and walked 12 during that span.

CHASE LAMBIN - 3B
(Rochester Red Wings - Triple-A Affiliate for Minnesota Twins)
Chase Lambin has been on a modest hitting streak, reaching on base in seven out of his last eight contests. The righty went 2-for-5 against Durham and recorded his second triple of the year. In his last 10 games, Lambin is hitting a solid .308 with 12 hits, six extra-base hits and four RBIs. This season, Lambin is hitting .25 in 91 games with 32 RBIs and an on-base percentage of .327.

CHAD BECK - RHP
(New Hampshire Fisher Cats - Double-A Affiliate for Toronto Blue Jays)
The past two starts have been tough for Chad Beck after a strong first half. Beck has dropped his last two decisions to Binghamton and Portland as his ERA has risen to a 3.69. Through 14 starts and 22 total appearances this season, Beck still holds an impressive 7-4 record and has fanned 70 opponents, while walking just 28 in 95 innings with the Fisher Cats this season.

ZACH OSBORNE - RHP

Reliever Zach Osborne has gotten comfortable in his role with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. In his first full professional season, Osborne holds a 1-2 record with the Pelicans, notching a 4.60 ERA in 21 contests. In his last 10 appearances, Osborne holds a stout 0.98 ERA, surrendering just two earned runs in 18.1 innings tossed. Overall this season, Osborne has fanned 36 opponents, walking just nine.

In five starts, the left-hander has posted a 2.35 ERA, giving up just six earned runs on 21 hits in 23.0 innings pitched. Opponents are hitting just .244, striking out 30 times against Wilborn. He notched a win against Beloit on July 20, tossing six complete innings giving up a run on three hits and fanning six en route to the victory.

DAYTON MARZE - RHP

Dayton Marze
collected his fifth save of the season on July 15 against Kane County. The right-hander holds a 3-5 mark with a 5.16 ERA in 61 innings pitched this season. Opponents have struck out 55 times compared to 22 walks, while batting .276 against Marze in 2011.

ALEX FUSELIER - OF

Acclimation to the minor leagues is still an adjustment for Alex Fuselier. The Lafayette area native holds a .193 average in 88 at-bats, collecting 17 hits and five RBIs during that span. His average is on the rise after recording back-to-back multi-hit contests against Mahoning Valley on July 19 and July 21. Fuselier has reached on base in seven out of his last eight contests dating back to July 10.

T.J. Geith is continuing a strong professional debut. The left-hander holds a 2-0 record in 11.2 innings with a 2.31 ERA. Geith leads the GCL Rays with two saves and has fanned 15 opponents without giving up a walk. Opponents are hitting .222 against the Peoria, Ariz., native.
