The UL men are second after racking up 12 points in the Discus Throw. Senior Jacob Domingue earned All-Conference honors in the event with his throw of 167-0 (50.91m). Garrett Harkless placed fifth with a throw of 165-7 (50.48m). Currently leading the conference is South Alabama with 16 points.
Zachary France placed 12th in the men's 10,000-meter run with a time of 32:34.61.
After one event, the UL women are eighth with 0.5 points. In the women's pole vault, Amber Laurent cleared 10-8 ¼ feet (3.26m) to place eighth overall.
Chris Raborn is second in the men's decathlon collecting 3,463 points in four of the seven events on Friday. Raborn won the 400-meter dash event with a time of 50.01. The freshman is six points behind the league leader William Oliver from Arkansas State.
In the heptathlon, Tiffany Patrick sits in eight, corralling 2,673 points during the first day. The senior placed a day-best sixth in the shot put with a toss of 34-5 (10.50m). In the women's pole vault, Amber Laurent cleared 10-8 ¼ feet (3.26m) to place eighth in the event.
