Curtain Call: Louisiana closes out the home portion of the 2011 schedule hosting Middle Tennessee in a three-game Sun Belt series this weekend. The Ragin' Cajuns look to cap off the 34th season at "The Tigue" on a winning note. The Cajuns carry a five-game win streak in Sun Belt play at "The Tigue" into the series with MT.

Sweepstakes: UL has swept MT at "The Tigue" each of the past two seasons (2009 & 2010). This weekend marks the third consecutive season the Blue Raiders visit "The Tigue".

3 for 30: The Cajuns are three wins shy of 30 which would mark the 13th time in the Tony Robichaux Era (17 seasons total) with 30-plus victories.

Seniors Say Goodbye: Playing their final games at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field will be a group of 13 seniors that is comprised of: Josh Bailey, Randall Bulliard, Michael Cook, Greg Fontenot, T.J. Geith, Matt Goulas, Taylor Hubbell, Lance Marvel, Ryland Parker, Mike Petello, Jordan Poirrier, Joey Satriano and Trask Switzenberg.

The Middle Tennessee Series (UL leads 30-25): The Cajuns-Blue Raiders series was revived when MT joined the Sun Belt in 2001. Series began in March 1975 and the teams met sporadically through 1983. UL holds a 21-9 advantage in regular season Sun Belt play; MT holds a 10-2 edge in the SBC Tourney. This is the sixth SBC series held at "Tigue" Moore Field.  UL carries an eight-game win streak in regular season play dating back to April 2008. The Cajuns have won eight of the 10 SBC series contested.

Model of Consistency: UL has gone 21 consecutive Sun Belt series without being swept by the opposition (dates back to April 2009). The Cajuns' Sun Belt record during the streak is 41-22.

Petello on the Prowl: On Tuesday vs. Rice, Mike Petello extended his current hitting streak to a season-high 12 games, the longest streak by any Cajuns player this season. He's batting .488 (21-of-43) with three doubles, three triples and a homer since the South Alabama series, raising his batting average from .312 to present-day .357.

A Historical Helping Hand: Greg Fontenot became the school's career assists leader after tallying nine in the Troy series - the exact amount he needed to overtake Mark Lalande's 506 benchmark. Fontenot and Lalande are the only players in school history to record 500 career assists.

A Tough Out: Greg Fontenot continues to be one of the nation's toughest to strikeout, having fanned only 12 times in 212 plate appearances. As of May 10 he ranked Top 50 nationally in toughest to strikeout.

Double 'Em Off: Louisiana has turned 49 double plays leaving the team 11 shy of a third straight season of 60-plus twin-killings with at least nine (9) games left to play. Since April 1, the Cajuns have executed 33 double plays in 24 games.

Nationally Ranked Defense: The Cajuns rank in the Top 25 for double plays turned (No. 23) and Top 30 for fielding percentage (No. 27).

Dueling Defense: UL and MT top the Sun Belt in double plays turned. The Blue Raiders lead the league with 54 DPs, while the Cajuns are a close second with 49 DPs.

Pitching is the Name of the Game: Cajuns pitching has held the opponent to five runs or less 32 times in 49 games (23-9 record).

The Sun Belt's Best: To no one's surprise the Ragin' Cajuns rank nationally and lead the Sun Belt in average home attendance. UL currently ranks 17th with an average home attendance of 3,307.

Six Times as Nice: Head coach Tony Robichaux picked up win No .600 as Cajuns skipper on Easter Sunday as UL rallied to defeat USA 5-4. Now in his 17th season in a Cajuns uniform, Robichaux sports a 604-404-1 mark with the Cajuns.
