Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns men and women's track & field team will honor 10 seniors in the final home meet of the 2011 outdoor season. UL hosts the Cole-Lancon Invitational on Saturday, April 30, as five teams from across the state will participate in the one-day meet at the Cajuns Track / Soccer Facility.

Other participating teams include Nicholls State, LSU, Southeastern Louisiana and Southern University at New Orleans. The meet is schedule to begin with the women's hammer throw and the men's javelin throw at 8:30 am. Running events are scheduled to start with the women's 3,000m steeple chase at 11 a.m.

The Cole-Lancon meet honors former legendary UL coaches Bob Cole and Charles Lancon who combined for a total of 30 conference championships.

UL will also host a Ragin' Cajuns Kids race before the women's 400-meter dash. The race will split up into two age groups, 6-8 and 9-12. All children are eligible to participate.

The Cajuns are honoring 10 seniors on Saturday after the conclusion of the men and women's 100-meter dash.

Representing the senior women will include Jasmine Anderson, Paula Parker, Tiffany Patrick, Jenna Picou, Jeri Ann Sills and Taryn Simmons. For the men, Brent Adams, Jacob Domingue and Joey Wynn will be recognized. Also, student manager Dannekah Roberts will receive plaudits for her service to the UL track & field program.

Saturday's meet is the final contest before the Sun Belt Conference Track & Field Championships in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on May 13-15.
