The Cajuns finish the year with a record of 7-13.
The Blue Raiders jumped out early after claiming the first two doubles matches for the first point.
Kyle Wishing put Middle Tennessee ahead 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Elliot Minvielle in the no. 6 singles.
Ted Nilsson put the Cajuns on the board with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at the no. 4 singles but it would not stem the tide as MT won the final two points of the match within the next few minutes as Ben Davis won 7-6 (3), 6-3 over Carlin Murray at the no. 1 spot and Matthew Langley defeated Robert Voss 7-5, 6-4 at the No. 3 position.
The win puts Middle Tennessee in the tournament's second round as No. 1 seed Denver awaits. The match is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Mobile Tennis Center.
On the women's side of the championship, the no. 3 seeded Cajuns will face no. 11 South Alabama at 9 a.m. CT after a first round bye.
