Men's Tennis Takes Troy, 4-3

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team grabbed a 4-3 win over Sun Belt opponent Troy on Friday in its first conference match of the season.

The win moves the Cajuns to 3-8 on the year while Troy slides to 2-12.

UL started strong winning two of the three doubles matches to secure the doubles point.

Yanick Mandl and Brandon Fairne downed Mario Rolemberg and Branko Weber 8-4 in no. 1 doubles.

Carlin Murray and Ted Nilsson secured the first point of the day with a 8-1 win over Sami Ghorbel and Niklas Jonsson.

The Cajuns' lead grew to 3-0 after Mandl and Murry won in singles. Mandl claimed his match 7-5, 6-2 while Murray won handedly, 6-3, 6-3.

Troy drew even after winning the next three singles matches in straight sets.

Ted Nilsson tallied the Cajuns final point with a 6-4, 6-0 dominating effort from the no. 6 spot.

UL will return to the courts on Sunday and play host to Texas Pan-American. First serve is set for 10 a.m. CT. Admission is free.
