Cajuns to Hold "Camp Tigue" on Saturday

The free baseball clinic is open to players ages 6-8 and is scheduled for 9 a.m. at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field. The clinic is strictly limited to the first 200 registered campers and will include instruction in all areas of the game along with lunch, a camp T-shirt and free admission for campers to the Cajuns' 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon home contest against Siena.
"The kids at six, seven and eight, they're just beginning to learn about the game," said UL director of baseball operations and clinic coordinator Chris Domingue. "This is early training to help get them off on the right foot.
"There's so many clinics geared for older kids, and we felt we could help by targeting the young group ... help make sure they are fit properly with their first glove, their first bat, and just teach them a little bit about the game."
Campers should arrive by 8:30 a.m., and the clinic will run from 9 a.m.-noon. Lunch will be served from noon-1 p.m. prior to the UL baseball game at 2 p.m. Only the campers will receive free admission, with accompanying parents or guardians required to purchase game tickets.
The clinic is free, but campers must be registered in advance in order to participate, and registrations will be cut off when they reach 200.
