Head coach Bob Marlin and the Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball coaching staff recently signed three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent during the NCAA's early signing period.

Marlin and his staff have added three high school prospects for the 2012-13 academic year. Set to join the Ragin' Cajuns are Cleveland “Pancake” Thomas (Scotlandville HS – Baton Rouge, La.), Steven Wronkoski (St. Thomas Aquinas HS – Hammond, La.) and Alex Andrews (Godby HS – Tallahassee, Fla.).

Thomas is the younger brother of current Cajuns forward J.J. Thomas. The 6-foot-4 guard, originally from Opelousas and Northwest High School, is presently wrapping up his career at Scotlandville High in Baton Rouge.

Last season Thomas helped lead Scotlandville to a runner-up finish in Class 5A. He averaged 17 points and nine rebounds per game in his first season at the Baton Rouge-based school after moving from the Opelousas area. Thomas received first team All-District 5-5A honors and was an All-State pick.

Wronkoski has helped lead St. Thomas Aquinas to a successful run under the direction of head coach Errol Gauff his first three seasons. He has helped guide the Falcons to three consecutive 30-win seasons and is averaging 11.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in his career.

The 6-foot-5 guard, who attends the same high school as current Cajun Raymone Andrews, Wronkoski earned honorable mention All-State honors as a sophomore (2009-10) and was a first team All-District 8-2A selection as a junior (2010-11).

Wronkoski averaged 12.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists last season helping lead STA to the Class 2A state quarterfinals. He played AAU summer basketball with fellow Cajuns signee Cleveland “Pancake” Thomas.

Andrews, a 6-foot-3 guard at Godby High School in Tallahassee, Fla., has been ranked as high as the 35th-best senior in the state of Florida. He led GHS to a 23-6 record his junior season after averaging 14 points and seven rebounds per game.

Just two games into his senior season for head coach Andy Colville, Andrews is averaging 26.5 points per game. This past summer he played AAU hoops for the Jacksonville Lee Bulls.
