UALR Tops Cajuns in Overtime, 1-0

The Ragin' Cajuns soccer team suffered a 1-0 overtime loss to UALR on Sunday at Burns Park in Little Rock, Ark.
UL controlled play for much of the first half outshooting the Trojans 8-5 while earning six corners. Allyson Voisin just missed giving the Cajuns a lead in the 35th minute on a header that was saved by Michelle Pittman.
In the second half, the momentum switched to UALR who posted 12 shots in the period, but Amanda Moorefield was up to the task keeping the Trojans off of the board in regulation.
The Trojans Ariel Galletti posted the game-winner in the 92nd minute when Galletti settled a pass from Jacquelyn Paz and beat Moorefield with a shot just inside of the right post.
Hayden Gibson led the Cajuns in shots for the second straight contest with five, while Moorefield posted seven saves.
UL returns to action on Friday at 7 p.m. as the Cajuns open a three-game conference homestand against Middle Tennessee.
