The Ragin' Cajuns soccer team fell in conference play to Middle Tennessee by a final of 2-0 Friday night at the Cajuns Soccer/Track Facility.
With the loss, UL drops to 4-11-1 overall and 0-7 in Sun Belt Conference play. The Cajuns were outshot 18-6 in the match and MTSU had a 6-2 edge in corners.
The contest remained scoreless at the half as Middle Tennessee held a 5-3 shot advantage going into the break.
The Blue Raiders broke into the scoring column in the 50th minute when Allison Stallard sent a free kick into the back of the net from 26 yards out.
Paige Goeglein increased the MTSU advantage to 2-0 in the 62nd minute as she knocked in a loose ball off of a Jessika Oseguera corner kick.
Erin Gremillion looked to have pulled the Cajuns within a goal in the 82nd minute when she fired a point blank shot inside the 18-yard box off of a loose ball, but Middle Tennessee keeper Rebecca Cushing made an impressive save to keep UL off of the board.
Gremillion had a team-high two shots in the contest, while the Cajuns had four of their six shots come on target.
Louisiana returns to action on Sunday at 1 p.m. when the Cajuns host Western Kentucky on Senior Day at the Cajuns Soccer/Track Facility.
