The comeback spoiled a strong pitching performance by the Red team pitching staff which did not allow a hit until the Black team's rally in the sixth inning.
Game 3 of the Fall World Series is set for 4 p.m., on Saturday.
Austin Robichaux got the start for the Red team and struck out five in his three innings of work. Derek Howell followed with 1 1/3 innings of hitless baseball and Ethan Hebert continued the no-hit bid until a Logan Preston infield single with two outs in the sixth inning.
Hebert issued a walk before giving way to Henri Faucheux whose hit by pitch of Tyler Girouard created a bases loaded situation. Caleb Kellogg relieved Faucheux and in a series of unfortunate events the Red team found themselves behind on the scoreboard.
A wild pitch allowed Preston to score and the Black team evened the game at 1-1. Daniel Nichols sent a bouncer up the middle of the infield that rolled under the glove of Thomas Simoneaux, allowed the go-ahead run to score and kept the inning alive.
The error led to three more runs for the Black team as Brian Bowman plated Girouard and Nichols with a singled to center field then a shallow fly ball off the bat of Cord Cockrell landed just behind the reach of Robichaux and rolled down the right field line allowing Bowman to score from first base.
Matt Hicks, who entered in the fifth inning, capped off his 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief by retiring the Red team in order in the top of the seventh inning.
Bowman posted a two-RBI game for the second straight night. He leads all players with four RBI in the Fall World Series.
Nick Jones scored the lone run for the Red team in the second inning. Jones led off with a single up the middle, stole second base and moved to third base on a Tyler Frederick single. An errant throw by Michael Strentz on Frederick's steal of second base allowed Jones to score and give Red an early 1-0 lead.
Jones' run was the only one of the contest between the two teams until the bottom of the sixth inning.
Joe Zimmermann started on the mound for the Black team, and worked three innings of two-hit baseball. The only run scored off of him came on the throwing error in the second inning.
