Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball program will host its annual Alumni Weekend Friday-Sunday, April 23-25 during a three-game series with Le Moyne College at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.
The three-day Alumni event will feature former Ragin' Cajuns including members of the 2000 baseball team - the first Cajuns team to advance to the NCAA College World Series. The 2000 CWS participants will be honored in a pregame ceremony prior to the start of the Saturday game.
Friday's festivities will begin with an Alumni Golf Tournament beginning at 8 a.m. There will be lunch for all (even non-golfers) at Pete's on Johnston and supper at the Cajun Cooking Club.
On Saturday all alumni are invited to participate in live batting practice on the new synthetic turf at "The Tigue" from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Lunch will be provided by the Cajun Tails Cooking Club.
Prior to the start of Saturday's game, all former Cajuns will run onto the field to their old position for the National Anthem and members of the 2000 team will also be introduced and presented their jersey from the 2000 season.
A postgame social in Lourde's Park will follow Saturday's game.
Alumni Weekend will conclude Sunday with breakfast at the Cajun Tails cooking area located across from "The Tigue" ticket booth.
To help prepare for golf, tickets, food and beverages, the UL baseball office needs each participant to RSVP by email to: cajunbaseball@cox-internet.com.
