The Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team will take on the No. 18 Texas Tech Red Raiders on Friday in the first round of the 46th Annual HEB Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

There will be eight teams at the tournament including the Cajuns. Those teams are Western Michigan, South Alabama, Middle Tennessee, DePaul and BYU.

The Cajuns will then play the winner or loser of Western Michigan and South Alabama, depending on what happens in their match with Texas Tech.

"This is going to be another tough challenge facing the No. 18 team in the nation," Jeffrey said. "But again, this will make us stronger for the end of the season. This type of experience is invaluable for the development of our players."

The matches will start at 9 a.m. and will be played in the traditional doubles-first format. The matches will be stopped at clinching point, so the first team to reach four will end the match as the winner. In the afternoon, teams will play singles first and stop at clinch. If the match goes to 3-3, then the teams would play the doubles.
