Cajuns Go 1-1, Play for 3rd Saturday
4/3/2009 5:00:00 AM | Men's Tennis
The Cajuns
had a rough road just getting to Murfreesboro. Their plane was delayed out of
New Orleans because of Tornado's in the Atlanta area. The delay caused the team
to miss their connecting flight from Atlanta to Tennessee. This caused the
team to spend the night in a hotel in Atlanta and did not arrive for their
match with FAU until a half hour before it started.
The Cajuns
were able to battle through their fatigue to beat the Owls 4-3 avenging a 4-3
loss earlier in the season. The Cajuns lost the doubles point to fall behind
1-0 but were able to win four singles matches to get the win.
The Cajuns
faced the top seeded MT in the semi finals. The Blue Raiders are ranked 56 in
the nation this year and proved to be too much for the tired Cajuns, winning
4-1.
The Cajuns
will play in the third place match tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. against Denver. The
Pioneers are 74 in the nation and have a record of 9-8 on the year. The Cajuns will
look for their second victory over a Division I opponent.
