Trojans Take Down Cajuns, 4-1

Troy's Katie Cooper was able to score two goals on Friday afternoon en route to a 4-1 victory over Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns soccer team in Troy, Ala. Freshman Cayla Chatman tallied her third goal of the year with UL's lone score.

The Trojans were able to grab a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals by Cooper and Jill Pinder.

Chatman cut into the lead early in the second half, finding the back of the net during the 47^th minute.

But Cooper was able to score again in the 75^th minute and Mary Morris added an insurance goal in the 82^nd minute to seal the win over UL.

Chatman recorded two of the Cajuns' five shots on goal. Kennedy Richards fired off two more while Kelli Jestes was responsible for one of her own.

Lauren Berlingo garnered the loss after stopping three of the Trojans' seven shots on goal.

With the loss, the Cajuns fall to 1-15-1 on the year and 1-8 in Sun Belt play. Troy improves to 7-9-1 overall and 3-6 in league play.

On Sunday the Cajuns will take on South Alabama. The match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. CT.
