LAFAYETTE - Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns baseball team was listed among 25 teams featured in the Rivals.com Pre-Fall Top 25 rankings, which the site released last week. Rivals.com lists Louisiana's weekend rotation as one of the tops in the nation - a rotation that includes three seniors (Buddy Glass, Hunter Moody, Brent Solich) and one junior (Danny Farquhar).
Louisiana-Lafayette was the only Sun Belt Conference school named to the list as well as the only school from the state of Louisiana.
The Cajuns (45-17), coming off their 11th 40-win season in program history, won the 2007 Sun Belt Conference Regular Season crown and later advanced to their 11th NCAA Regional appearance.
In addition to Louisiana, twenty-four other teams were listed by Rivals.com as the Top 25 teams to watch: Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Cal State Fullerton, Florida State, Louisville, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Missouri, North Carolina, Oregon State, Rice, San Diego, South Carolina, St. John's, Texas, UC Irvine, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wake Forest and Wichita State.
UL looks to defend its preseason recognition with the beginning of its annual Red-White Fall World Series to be held at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field, beginning Nov. 1.
