OMAHA, Neb.-The American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Sporting Goods announced the 2007 All-America first, second and third teams and the inaugural Division I Rawlings Gold Glove Awards. Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns Scott Hawkins and Jonathan Lucroy were both named to the second team.

Hawkins and Lucroy were both named to the first team of the ABCA/Rawlings All-South Central Region.

Hawkins earned First Team All-Sun Belt Conference honors in 2007.  He played in 59 games for the Cajuns with 56 starts.  Hawkins hit .344 on the year with 72 hits in 209 at bats.  Of his 72 hits, he hit 11 doubles, two triples and 16 homeruns.  Hawkins tied for fourth in school history with Justin Hemme (1998) and Papo Ramos (1992) with 16 homers in a season.

Hawkins ranked in the Cajuns top-five on the season in batting average, slugging percentage, on base percentage, runs scored, hits, RBI, doubles, homeruns, total bases, walks, sacrifice flies and stolen bases.

He led the team with a .376 batting average and 12 homeruns in Sun Belt Conference games only.  The sophomore paced the team with a .792 slugging percentage and a .472 on base percentage in SBC games.

Hawkins tied a school record with four walks against Florida Atlantic on March 25, and tied a UL school record with five runs scored in a game against Arkansas-Little Rock on May 12.

Lucroy was named to the Baseball America All-America Team, First Team All-Sun Belt Conference, First Team All-Louisiana and was named All-Louisiana Hitter of the Year.

He led the team with a .360 batting average.  Lucroy recorded 95 hits on the season, the second highest single season total in Cajuns history.  Of his 95 hits, he had 40 extra base hits, including 18 homeruns, 19 doubles and three triples.  His 18 homeruns were the third most in school history for a single season.

For the second consecutive year, he drove in 68 runs to lead the team.  Lucroy set the Ragin' Cajuns' single season record with a 174 total bases on the year.  He had 31 multiple hit games on the season, including a five-hit performance against South Alabama on March 11.  Lucroy tied for first on the team with 13 multi-RBI games.  He had five or more RBI in four games, the most by any Cajuns player

At the conclusion of his junior season, he ranked in the Cajuns' top-5 in eight categories.  Lucroy was fourth on the UL career batting average list with a .356 average and second all-time list with 241 base hits.  Lucroy finished his Cajuns' career first in career doubles with 54 and third in career homeruns with 35.  He is the Cajuns' career RBI leader with 184 and first in school history with 414 total bases.  Lucroy is third all-time with a .612 career slugging percentage and fourth all-time with 16 career sacrifice flies.

Lucroy was a third round draft pick by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2007 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

The ABCA named David Price from Vanderbilt University as the 2007 ABCA/Rawlings Division I Player of the Year. In selecting the winner, the ABCA considers both performance on the field and value to the team. Price was chosen as the first player in the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and ended the year at 11-1 overall with 194 strikeouts in 133.1 innings pitched (13.1 strikeouts per nine inn.).

The ABCA All-America Teams are collegiate baseball's oldest selections, dating to 1949. All Division I coaches have the opportunity to nominate and vote on these selections, which are initially compiled into eight All-Region teams. These teams are then finalized as the first, second and third All-America teams by the ABCA's NCAA Division I All-America and Coach of the Year Committee. This year, the committee selected 59 players as 2007 ABCA All-Americans.
