NEW ORLEANS-Cox Sports Television (CST) was awarded exclusive rights to the 2007 NCAA baseball regional tournament in College Station this weekend. The double-elimination tournament will feature the host Texas A&M Aggies as the No. 1 seed, Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns as the No. 2 seed, the Buckeyes of Ohio State as the No. 3 seed and the Le Moyne Dolphins as the No. 4 seed. All the games will air live Olsen Field on the campus of Texas A&M University.
Cox Communications customers in Lafayette will see games on channel 37.
The College Station regional is one of 16 regionals in action this weekend throughout the country. The winner of this double-elimination regional will advance to the Super Regionals to play the winner of the Houston Regional where Rice enters as the No. 1 seed.
The regional will begin Friday with second-seeded Louisiana-Lafayette (43-15) facing Ohio State (37-22) at 1:00 p.m., while the Aggies (44-16) will play Le Moyne (34-17) in game two at 7:00 p.m. Saturday features a doubleheader beginning with a loser's bracket game at 1:00 p.m. and a winner's bracket game starting at 7:00 p.m.
Sunday will also include a doubleheader with game four loser taking on the game three winner (game 5) at 1:00 p.m. and then at 7:00 p.m. when the winners of Game 4 and 5 meet (game 6). If necessary, a game 7 will take place on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
This season marks the fourth consecutive year that CST has carried an NCAA Regional. The first two seasons, CST was at the Baton Rouge regional at Alex Box Stadium. Last season, CST was in Fayetteville, Ark., for the four-team regional at Arkansas.
