Statistical Recap

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - History repeated itself on Saturday night in Little Rock, Ark. by way of Arkansas-Little Rock's 62-46 victory over Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns.

Prior to this week, UALR had won back-to-back Sun Belt Conference games just once in school history. That feat occurred the last time New Mexico State and UL Lafayette played in the Trojan Fieldhouse. The Trojans defeated NMSU 69-49 on Feb. 14, 2002, and then topped the Cajuns 59-58 two days later.

On Thursday, UALR topped New Mexico State 64-60, heading into
Saturday's game with the Cajuns.

The Cajuns were unable to stop the Trojans tall guards. The pair of
6-foot-1 Alicia Cash and 6-foot Jocelyn Love torched the Cajuns for 21
and 16 points, respectively. Cash also grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds.

Limping painfully on a swollen foot, Anna Petrakova was the Cajuns
offense, scoring 26 points in 34 minutes.

Tied at the half, the Cajuns opened the second half with an 8-0 run.
Petrakova scored five points and Sharee Glenn dropped in a triple.

UL Lafayette then collapsed offensively.

Four points by Petrakova were the only points the Cajuns would score
over the next 11:24. As the Cajuns went cold, UALR heated-up, scoring 26 points over that span.

A 9-0 run by the hosts erased the Cajuns 38-30 lead and gave UALR a
one-point edge.

A pair of Petrakova free throws momentarily gave UL Lafayette back the
lead, but another run by UALR put the Trojans up 46-40.

Another Petrakova basket was answered by ten straight points from the
Trojans to give UALR a 56-42 lead at the 5:34 mark.

The Trojans shot 50 percent in the second half compared to just 23
percent by the Cajuns.

Offense was a problem early in the first half, as the Cajuns led 8-6
exactly eight minutes into the game.

The Cajuns took a 15-12 lead on five points from Petrakova, but UALR
charged back with an 8-0 run to take a 20-15 lead at the 5:12 mark.

Petrakova closed the Cajuns within 22-19 on a pair of buckets, but UALR
jumped ahead by seven, 26-19 with baskets from Love and Cash.

UL Lafayette closed the half with a 7-0 run to tie the game at 26-26.
Petrakova hit a jumper before Tiffany Washington connected on a jumper
and a three-pointer.
