Located adjacent to M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field in the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Athletics complex is the Ragin’ Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility, one of the most picturesque and modern facilities in the south.

Home to both the Ragin’ Cajuns track and field and soccer teams, the 5,000-seat facility is bordered by beautiful southern longleaf pines on two sides and includes new amenities that benefits both programs, along with its fans.

The Ragin’ Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility was built in 1976 to replace McNaspy Stadium. It has hosted two track meets annually, including the Louisiana Classics each spring.

The facility has been the permanent home for Ragin’ Cajuns soccer since 2005 when the infield was reconstructed to provide an NCAA regulation soccer field complete with Hybrid Bermuda grass. The field is surrounded by an eight-lane, all-weather, 400-meter track that was resurfaced and included the addition of a new high jump apron area.

Prior to the new facility, the Cajuns played at Carencro’s Moore Park (2000-01) before spending three seasons at Cajun Field (2002-04).

The Ragin’ Cajuns Soccer/Track facility was officially dedicated for soccer on Aug. 28, 2005 prior to the team’s match with Tulsa. The first victory on the new pitch came on Sept. 2, 2005 when the Ragin’ Cajuns blanked Northwestern State, 1-0.

The venue has also played host to seven Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships (1992, 1994, 1998, 1999, 2006, 2012, 2016), the 1991 TAC Junior National Championships, the 2006 Sun Belt Conference Soccer Tournament and the Louisiana High School Soccer Coaches Association All-Star Game from 2009-11.

Beginning in the fall of 2015, fans attending events at the Ragin’ Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility quickly noticed new changes for both programs that were part of Tier 1 of the school’s $115 million Athletic Facilities Master Plan.

The newly renovated facility features new office space, a team meeting room, new locker rooms and team lounge, athletic training room and air-conditioned press box. Fans will benefit from the new facility with the addition of a new team store, along with a renovated concession stand and restrooms.
