Dustin Albaugh was hired as the Assistant Director of Athletic Performance for Olympic Sports at the University of Louisiana in November of 2023. His core responsibilities include overseeing the performance programs for volleyball and track and field.
Prior to the University of Louisiana, Albaugh was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Louisiana High School football legend Lewis Cook at Notre Dame High School in Crowley, LA (2021-2023). Along with his responsibilities for football, Albaugh also oversaw all aspects of training for softball, basketball, and track and field.
Before Notre Dame, he served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Denison University (2020-2021) where he worked with Men’s and Women’s Golf, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Women’s Squash, and Women’s Fencing. Prior to Denison, Albaugh spent two years at the University of Connecticut (2018-2020) where he oversaw the performance programs for Men’s and Women’s Swimming, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, and was a full-time assistant with Men’s Ice Hockey, and Track and Field.
Prior to his appointment at the University of Connecticut, Albaugh completed professional internships with the University of Connecticut, Springfield College, and the University of Northern Iowa.
Albaugh earned his bachelor’s degree in Movement and Exercise Science (2015) and his master’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Strength and Conditioning (2017) from the University of Northern Iowa. He is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. He also holds his USAW level 1 certification from the United States Weightlifting Association, a Precision Nutrition level 1 certification, and a Functional Movement Screening level 1 certification as well.
A native of Marion, Iowa, Albaugh currently resides in Crowley, Louisiana, with his wife Mia, and his daughter, Hadley.
