Ryan Welty begins his 11th season with the Ragin’ Cajuns basketball program and his fourth as Director of Player Personnel.
The Lafayette native began his career at Louisiana handling all film exchange for the Ragin’ Cajuns and assisted with video breakdown of practice and opponent scouting. Welty supervises the basketball managers, equipment, assists in the team’s community and public relations projects and works with the Director of Basketball Operations in the planning, organizing and promotion of the Ragin’ Cajuns summer camps and clinics.
Welty, a 2004 graduate from Lafayette High, served as an assistant coach at LHS from 2004-10 and helped the Lions to the 2008 Class 5A state championship. Welty graduated from Louisiana with a degree in general studies. He is the father of a son, Owen.
