Jill Abbott currently serves as the primary academic counselor for baseball, men's golf, women's soccer, and men's tennis, while assisting with the daily operations for the Ragin’ Cajuns’ football program.
In her role, Abbott is the tasked with the overseeing the day-to-day academic needs of the respective student-athletes that she is responsible for, while helping monitor and maintain academic eligibility. She also oversees the academics website and social media channels.
Prior to joining the Ragin’ Cajuns, she spent two years at the University of Nebraska, where she served as an academic counselor and mentor for baseball, football, track & field, volleyball and wrestling. Abbott was also tasked with running the departments tutorial program in Lincoln.
Before her two-year stint at Nebraska, the Smith Center, Kansas, native began her career in academic counseling as a graduated assistant working with baseball, women's basketball, women's soccer, and women's volleyball.
Abbott earned two bachelor’s degrees from Kansas State University in Psychology and Human Development and Family Science before earning her master’s degree from K-State in Counseling and Higher Education Administration.
