This 100,000-square foot facility, which is not only the largest in the Sun Belt Conference, is one of the largest among Division I schools across the South.
Located adjacent to the Leon Moncla Indoor Practice Facility, every Ragin’ Cajuns student-athlete benefits from the 12,000-square foot weight room, the state-of-the-art athletic training room and hydrotherapy area, nutrition station and the 150-seat auditorium.
In addition, the SAPC also includes several components designed specifically to enhance the Ragin’ Cajuns football program, including a new locker room, player’s lounge, coaches’ offices and meeting rooms.
Â
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING
Ragin' Cajuns Strength and Conditioning is dedicated to developing the total athlete in an atmosphere where hard work, accountability and relentlessness are paramount.
Under the direction of head strength and conditioning coach Lewis Caralla, the Ragin’ Cajuns strength and conditioning staff works hand in hand to ensure that each student-athlete has the best opportunity to reach their fullest potential through utilizing the latest research, knowledge, and technology available.
          Â
Located in the Student-Athlete Performance Center, the weight room opened in September 2015 and is the primary strength and conditioning home to all Ragin' Cajun Athletics. This strength training facility boasts 12,250 square feet of workout space, making it the largest in the state of Louisiana.
An additional 2,000-square foot mezzanine with 15 pieces of cardio equipment overlooks the weight room floor. The Refueling Station is directly connected to the weight room, providing athletes with pre- and post-workout nutrition and hydration. The strength and conditioning facility is just steps away from the Leon Moncla Indoor Practice Facility.
Â
ATHLETIC TRAINING CENTER
The new 10,000-square foot Athletic Training Center is a state-of-the-art facility that allows Ragin’ Cajuns student-athletes to rehab faster.
Under the direction of head athletic trainer Travis Soileau, the facility houses a Hydrotherapy area that includes a custom-made 35-foot, 4,800-gallon SwimEx cold plunge tub – the largest one that the company has made.
Also located in the Athletic Training Center is a HydroWorx aquatic therapy pool, which is eight-and-a-half feet deep, can hold 3,200 gallons of water and allows student-athletes to better rehabilitate from leg injuries.
The facility houses both a Primary Care and Orthopedic exam room, an increased rehab area and eight taping stations, plus an auxiliary taping station.
