With the task of leading the team as the only senior, Ashley Benjamin will have a little more on her plate this year. She is an energetic player who will see more time in the 4/5 roles, despite her size, playing what coach Brodhead calls his ‘hybrid’ position. She is a very athletic player, who can make things happen offensively. She plays with a lot of heart, and can contribute both offensively and defensively.

2012-13 (Junior)
•   Played in 30 games, starting 27 as one of the teams main post players.
•   Averaged 9.1 points and 6.2 rebounds, while 32.8 minutes a game.
•   Led all Cajuns in minutes played (985) with 32.8 minutes per game.
•   Shot .430 (99-for-230) from the field.
•   Was second on the team with 186 rebounds.
•   Shot .705 from the charity stripe, making 74-of-105 free throws.
•   Scored 12 points with 16 rebounds against UALR (12/29), for her first career double-double.
•   Posted her second double-double of the season, scoring 18 points with 14 rebounds against Troy (2/20).
•   Scored 19 points in just 24 minutes of action against Southern (11/9), shooting 8-for-9 from the field and 3-for-5 from the free throw line.

Prior to Louisiana
•   Played at Tyler Junior College where she was an all-conference honorable mention selection
•   Led the team in rebounds in her sophomore campaign.

HIGH SCHOOL
•   Led North Shore Senior High School to three district championships.
•   First-team All-District in her junior and senior campaigns.
•   District MVP her senior season.
•   Earned all-greater Houston, rebound, defensive, and leadership awards as a senior.
